Privacy Policy
SpendKit has an unusual privacy property: the product IS the privacy model. Entries are stored in your browser’s local storage — a technical fact, not a policy promise. There are no accounts, no forms, no sync, no server-side anything for tracker data.
What we do not collect
No names, emails, amounts, categories, notes, dates or exports. Export to CSV writes a file directly from your browser to your device. Clearing your browser data erases your tracker permanently — there is no cloud copy to recover, which is exactly the point.
Third-party scripts
Standard anonymous analytics and advertising scripts may load on this site and set cookies; you can opt out of personalized advertising through browser settings or industry tools (DAA WebChoices). The tracker works fully with scripts blocked.
Children and classrooms
Expense tracking is a common classroom exercise: math classes track a simulated budget, economics classes analyze real spending patterns. The site has no input fields a child could type into, no accounts, no social features, and no data collection directed at anyone — which makes it a safe link to hand to a class.
What clearing browser data means for you
Because entries live in local storage, clearing site data in your browser erases your tracker history permanently — there is no cloud copy. Export to CSV first if the history matters; the export writes a file straight to your device in one click.
Changes
If this policy ever changes — for example if an optional sync feature ever ships — the change will be described here in plain language before it takes effect, and the no-account default will remain available. Questions: hello@spendkit.app.
