About SpendKit

SpendKit illustration

SpendKit exists because expense tracking fails for a structural reason: most tools either harvest your bank credentials or nag you into a subscription. We built the opposite — a tracker that runs entirely in your browser, stores nothing anywhere, and costs nothing. The 10-second entry, the eight categories, the monthly review: the method is described in our guides and it is the same one we use ourselves.

How the tracker works

Every entry is saved in your own browser’s local storage — the tracker page works offline, on a plane, with a dead VPN. Export to CSV anytime; delete everything with one button. There is no account to breach because there is no account.

What we publish

Budgeting guides written to be executed, not admired: the 50/30/20 rule with real dollar splits, category taxonomies that stay readable, and beginner paths that start with one number. Corrections are applied within days — send them via the contact page.

Who it is for

First-time budgeters who found every app either too pushy or too expensive; freelancers with irregular income who need to see the month honestly; couples who want a shared view without linking bank accounts; and anyone recovering from a budgeting app that shut down. If a ten-second daily entry sounds sustainable, this was built for you.

Roadmap

Near-term: monthly category targets, a savings-goal line, and CSV import to match the export. Later: shared-tracker mode for couples. The guides grow alongside the tool — new guides are added as the common questions in our contact mail make them obvious.
